What parents should know

Kangaroo Zoo in North Salt Lake is an indoor amusement center known for its inflatable bounce houses, slides, jungle gyms, and party rooms. The venue has long been popular for active play and birthday celebrations, drawing families with children ranging from toddlers to pre-teens. Parents appreciate the physical activity, with kids able to jump, climb, and explore for hours. The facility is open daily, with extended hours on weekends, and offers monthly memberships and party packages that include playtime and a designated area for cake and presents.

Recent reviews, however, reflect a shift in the venue’s atmosphere and offerings following a change in ownership. Multiple parents note that several favorite inflatables and all arcade machines have been removed, and the variety of attractions is now more limited, especially for children over age five or seven. Pricing has increased, with some reviewers reporting entry fees around $16–$17 per child and party room costs described as “very inflated.” While some still find the price reasonable for younger children, others feel the value has diminished, especially given fewer play options.

Cleanliness and maintenance are recurring concerns in recent feedback. Several parents mention finding used bandages, tissues, and wrappers on the floor, and bathrooms described as “smelled really bad.” One reviewer observed a broken central play feature that was not properly repaired, and others noted choking hazards from prize balls left unattended. Staff attentiveness varies: some hosts are praised for their friendliness and helpfulness during parties, while others are described as inattentive or slow to address issues. Food service has been inconsistent, with reports of broken ovens and strict no-outside-food policies even when venue equipment fails.

Birthday parties remain a core offering, with some families reporting smooth, stress-free celebrations and helpful staff. Party rooms are described as “super cute,” and the process is generally easy, with setup and cleanup handled by the team. However, parents should be aware of strict rules regarding gifts and outside food, and occasional lapses in party organization. Crowding can be an issue during weekends or large group events, and supervision is important, especially for younger children in shared play areas.

While Kangaroo Zoo continues to provide a space for energetic indoor play and birthday gatherings, parents should check for current renovations, ask about available attractions, and clarify party policies before booking. The venue’s overall rating remains above 4, but recent detailed reviews surface practical caveats about value, cleanliness, and changes in offerings.

Why it may work for birthdays

Kangaroo Zoo is frequently used for birthday parties, with dedicated party rooms and packages. Recent reviews confirm birthday hosting, but note caveats about pricing, party policies, and changes in attractions. The score reflects strong relevance but practical concerns parents should consider.

Very disappointed in this experience and the full cost charge during their renovation. Some of the inflatables were flat and very limited things kids over 5 can do at this time.

Don't pay their prices until they complete their renovation. $16 for The Limited experiences for the kids is way too much. Especially if you have kids over the age of seven

They are under new ownership and the place has literally gone to hell. They jacked up the prices, took away the Tuesday special, removed all of the arcades, and got rid of the best bouncy houses. It is no longer worth the drive or price. This used to be our favorite place, but we won't be coming back again.
